Ginna Dix, Wife Of ‘Maine Cabin Masters’ Star, Dies At 48


Ginna Dix, wife of “Maine Cabin Masters” star Matt โ€œDixieโ€ Dix, has died at age 48.

The Magnolia Network show announced Ginna Dix’s death Feb. 5 on Instagram alongside images of her as a child and others of her and her husband over the years.

“We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Ginna Dix on February 1, 2025,” the announcement read. “Beloved wife of Dixie, God Daughter to Ryanโ€™s parents, and friend to so many. Ginna was a huge part of the Maine Cabin Masters family and will be missed tremendously,:

The message concluded with a thanks to viewers for their “love and support” along with a plea to “give the Maine Cabin Masters team privacy at this time.”

An obituary for Ginna Dix published by centralmaine.com on Feb. 4 revealed that she died unexpectedly at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, with family members by her side. It did not provide a cause a death.

Ginna Dix and Dixie Dix met in 2000, the same year she earned a bachelors degree in nursing, and wed the following year, according to her obit.

After working as a registered nurse in Maine for many years, Ginna Dix earnedย a Master of Science in nursing from Purdue University in January of 2018 to become a nurse practitioner.

Ginna Dix’s obituary also noted that she loved spending time with her husband and the couple’s three dogs, Quimby, Dodge and Asher.

“Ginna found joy in spending time at the beach in the summer and snowmobiling through the woods in the winter,” the obit read. “She was happiest when she was ‘up to camp’ surrounded by her family and friends, listening to music and drinking a glass of Prosecco on Saturday mornings. She was often found sitting quietly on the couch with her dogs, a strong cup of coffee and reading a book.โ€

Dixie Dix’s “Maine Cabin Masters” co-star Ryan Eldridge, a lifelong friend of the couple, honored Ginna Dix in a Feb. 5ย Instagram tribute.

โ€œWe were born on the same day two years apart, our parents were best friends, you married my best friend,โ€ Eldridge wrote alongside a throwback photo of the trio and another showing him and Ginna Dix when they were younger.

Eldridge recalled Ginna Dix being “one of the boys,” when she was a young, “riding around inside the house on bicycles on Iron Mine Hill,” who grew up to be a “powerful, no nonsense women (sic).”

“I will never forget that time I whacked you with a tennis racket, you calmly gave me a look that Iโ€™ll never forget as you werenโ€™t phased and knew I was screwed as you calmly walked back to tell our parents,” he recalled.

He also remembered being present “the night you and Matty locked eyes and were dancing on the countertops.”

He added, “You have been a big part of my life since day one and left this world way too soon, but you sure did make a mark in your short time. I love you Gin!”
