Carley Fortuneโs debut novel โEvery Summer Afterโ is headed to the screen.
On July 17, Amazon MGM Studios announced the cast for the upcoming adaptation of the bestselling novel via Instagram.
The novel unspools over the course of six summers in the past and one weekend in the present, when Percy Fraser returns to Barry’s Bay, the picturesque lake town where she spent her childhood summers. There, Percy finds Sam, the boy she loved as a girl, now all grown up.
Fortuneโs โEvery Summer Afterโ has spent 15 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold over 1 million copies. The novel gained traction on BookTok, TikTokโs thriving reader community, where the hashtag racked up over 81 million views.
โI couldnโt be more excited about this fabulous cast! This is an enormously talented group of actors, whose auditions made me laugh, swoon, and cry,โ Fortune said in a statement, per Variety. โI know theyโll have fans of โEvery Summer Afterโ falling in love with their favorite characters all over again.โ
Luckily, fans wonโt have to wait too long to see their favorite characters onscreen, as the show is already in production, according to Amazon. The series will eventually air on Amazon Prime Video.

Sadie Soverall as Percy
Soverall is set to star as Persephone “Percy” Fraser, the novelโs protagonist. Viewers might recognize the 23-year-old British actor from her roles as Annabel in “Saltburn” and Beatrice in “Fate: The Winx Saga.”
Matt Cornett as Sam
Cornett will star opposite Soverall as Sam, her unlikely love interest. The Disney Channel alum is known for his role as E.J. Caswell on Disney+โs ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and Zach Barnes on Nickelodeonโs “Bella and the Bulldogs.”
Michael Bradway as Charlie
Bradway will take the screen as Charlie, Samโs older brother. The actor and model played firefighter Jack Damon on Season 12 of “Chicago Fire.”
Abbey Cowen as Delilah
Cowen joins the cast as Delilah, Percyโs friend. Sheโs known for her roles as Dorcas in “The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” and Bloom in “Fate: The Winx Saga.”
Aurora Perrineau as Chantal
Perrineau will feature as Chantal, another one of Percyโs close friends. Her credits include Shana Elmsford in “Jem and the Holograms,” Tanya in Netflixโs “When They See Us,” Riddy in Netflix’s “Kaos,” and C in HBOโs “Westworld.”
Joseph Chiu as Jordie
Finally, rounding out the cast is Chiu as Jordie. The model and actor played Spider in Netflixโs “Fear Street: Prom Queen.”
