Attendees of the 2025 Oscars found a little surprise under their seats to help them make it through the long award show.
Ramin Setoodeh, co-editor-in-chief of Variety, gave viewers an inside look at the small care package event organizers left for celebrities on Hollywood’s biggest night.
The journalist took to X to share a photo of a sample cardboard box left under the seats. Inside, there were a few items, including a drink, a pretzel, a napkin and a note from Conan O’Brien, the host of the show.
Printed on stationery that read, “From the desk of Conan O’Brien,” the note featured an illustration of the comedian giving the peace sign while donning a tuxedo.
“Dear Star/Seat Filler โย I hope you enjoy these complimentary snacks. I tried my best to include a gummy but Disney said that was a ‘hard pass.’ย Have a great night,ย Conan,” the note read. The Oscars aired on ABC, which is owned by Disney.
X users were entertained by OโBrienโs sweet gesture and commented on Setoodehโs post. One of them called the comedian the โhost of the decade.โ
โThis is so thoughtful,โ another commented.
Several social media users poked fun at OโBrienโs gummy comment, with one sharing a GIF of dancing gummy bears.
The Hollywood Reporter posted its own unboxing video from the award show and revealed that it also contained a package of Swedish Fish candy.
The snack box was certainly a nice touch for guests, but nominees got the real goodies. Per CNBC Make It, those who were nominated for a 2025 Oscar received an “Everybody Wins” gift bag from LA-based marketing company Distinctive Assets. The bag is not associated with the Oscars.
The 2025 bag contains more than 60 gifts, including a $23,000 stay at a Maldives resort, luxury skin care items, an invitation to a virtual wellness retreat, film-inspired merchandise and more. The swag bag is valued at approximately $220,000.
