Coco Jones and Donovan Mitchell are engaged!
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and Cleveland Cavaliers point guard announced their engagement with photos on Instagram on July 11.
On Instagram, Jones simply shared a shot of her kissing Mitchell with her left hand on his chest as the sun beamed from behind. On her left ring finger, she donned what appeared to be a impressive diamond engagement ring.
Mitchell, nicknamed Spida, also shared the same photo on Instagram, but added a second slide that appeared to capture the moment when he proposed to Jones.
In the clip, Mitchell is seen getting down on one knee before Jones appears to accept his proposal and the two embrace.
TODAY.com reached out for comment but did not hear back at the time of publication.
In the comment section of his post, fellow athletes and celebrities sent their well wishes to the couple.
Dwyane Wade commented, “Love.”
The official Adidas Instagram account wrote, “Congrats SPIDA,” with a teary-eyed and red heart emoji.
In the comment section of Jones’ post, many fellow artists shared their thoughts on the engagement news.
Singer Ella Mai wrote, “periodddddddddddddddd,” with the celebration and red heart emoji.
Singer-actor Chloe Bailey also chimed in, writing, “makes me the happiest,” with five heart-eyed emoji.
Though rumors have swirled around the two bring romantically involved, they have rarely spoken about their relationship.
On The Breakfast Club podcast in April, Jones opened up about where she is at this point in her life, in her music and in her relationship with Mitchell.
โIโve grown,โ she said, later adding, โMusic is all of the things. Itโs in love. Itโs late night. Itโs anger. Itโs all the emotions.โ
When asked if her โbaeโ is Mitchell, Jones responded, โIโm happy! And thatโs all Iโm going to say about it. People already know. Yโall know.โ
On the Club Shay Shay podcast in February, host Shannon Sharpe asked Jones about the internet spotting her and Mitchell out together, to which she responded, โI love that. Little spies everywhere. I feel like Iโm in a detective movie.โ
She explained at the time, โSecrecy is not what I prefer. I donโt want to ever feel like I have to be somebodyโs secret. I donโt want to make anybody feel like theyโre mine. I think, for me, Iโm trying to protect myself, and Iโm trying to protect my family and whoever I love. So, yeah, I am more private.โ
