CHARLOTTE, N.C. โ Charlotte Douglas International Airport set a record in 2024 with 58.8 million passengers arriving and departing — a 10% increase from the previous record of 53.4 million from 2023.ย
This marks the fifth time in eight years that CLT has set a new passenger record. The only years that didn’t set passenger records were 2020 to 2022.
International travel at Charlotte Douglas also saw significant growth. The airport now offers 42 international destinations, and saw a a 13% increase from 2023’s total of 2.1 million passengers to 2.4 million in 2024.ย
Aircraft operations mirrored this upward trend, with an 11% rise in movements, totaling 596,583 arrivals and departures. That’s compared to 539,066 the previous year.
Roughly 70% of the passengers at CLT are there for connecting flights, but local passengers also surged. In 2024, the airport saw 23 of its 25 busiest days on record.ย
