Clay Aiken’s Son Parker, 16, Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance

Clay Aikenโ€™s 16-year-old son, Parker, is the perfect plus-one.ย

Parker made a rare appearance alongside his dad at the premiere of the Broadway musical โ€œBoop!โ€ in New York City on April 5.ย

Aiken, 46, wore a turtleneck sweater under a striped orange blazer paired with gray trousers, while Parker looked dapper in a black suit and patterned shirt.ย

The pair were there to support Parker’s uncle, music producer David Foster, who composed the music for โ€œBoop,” a stage adaption of the 1930’s cartoon character Betty Boop.

Davidโ€™s sister, Jaymes Foster, is Parkerโ€™s mother.ย

Aiken and his best friend, Jaymes, welcomed Parker in August 2008. Although the two have never had a romantic relationship โ€” Aiken came out as gay shortly after Parkerโ€™s birth โ€” they decided to raise a child together.

โ€œNo matter what the situation youโ€™re in, if youโ€™re raised in a loving environment, thatโ€™s the most important thing,โ€ Aiken shared with People that year.ย

Although Aiken and Jaymes have largely kept Parker out of the public eye, they allowed the teen to make his television debut on Celebrity Family Feud at the age of 15 in 2024.

โ€œI appreciate that heโ€™s been able to have a normal โ€” or as close to a normal โ€” childhood, as he could,โ€ Aiken told E! News after Parkerโ€™s appearance on the show.ย

While Parker has clearly inherited his fatherโ€™sย physical features, donโ€™t expect him to follow the same career path.ย

โ€œHeโ€™s had too much music in his life,โ€ Aiken noted during his interview with E! News. โ€œHe knows what he wants to do. Heโ€™s going to go a very different way. Iโ€™m proud of him. Iโ€™m thrilled for him. He can sing, though, he just doesnโ€™t want to.โ€

Last year, Aiken reflected on the similarities and differences between himself and Parker during an appearance on the Adam Carolla Show. He noted that early on, Parkerโ€™s behavior mirrored his own, but as Parker hit puberty, differences began to emerge, particularly in how they handle conflict and anger.

โ€œHeโ€™s straight,โ€ Aiken said. โ€œSo the way he was raised obviously has nothing to do with his sexual orientation. Itโ€™s been interesting to me to see what is nature versus nurture โ€” because so much of him is nature.โ€ย
