Brooke Hogan’s Husband Reacts Hulk Hogan’s Death

As Brooke Hogan privately grieves the death of her father, late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, her husband Steven Oleksy has issued words of gratitude to those offering support.

In a July 24 post shared to his Instagram story, Oleksy — a former professional ice hockey player who married Brooke Hogan in 2022 — reflected on the kindness he and his wife have received in the aftermath of her father’s death.

“Thank you for the love and support for my beautiful wife,” Oleksy, 39, wrote. “We are incredibly lucky to have you in our lives — not just during this challenging time, but always.”

Oleksy’s post was a reshare of another Instagram story, shared by Ashley Menendez, who appeared in Brooke Hogan’s 2008 VH1 reality series, “Brooke Knows Best.”

“My dear sweet friend @mizzhogan lost her father today. He died knowing what I know, Brooke loved him deeply; was fiercely loyal and only ever wanted him to be peaceful, happy and surrounded by people who valued him for who he really was,” Menendez’s post reads. “He chose differently for himself, but we can still remember him as a doting father to a little girl with big dreams and a bigger heart.”

Brooke Hogan, 37, and Hulk Hogan’s relationship has faced challenges in recent years, including a prolonged period of estrangement. According to public claims made by her mother, Linda Hogan, in March 2025, Brook Hogan had not spoken to either of her parents — who divorced in 2009 — in the past eight years.

In response, Brook Hogan shared her perspective on the estrangement on Instagram, where she wrote that her decision “was made purely on how they have dealt with me directly my entire life.”

“I have been EXTREMELY verbally and mentally abused since childhood,” she continued in her story, adding that “Sadly, it would frequently turn physical.”

“Inside of me, there is a little girl who desperately wants and needs her Mom and Dad,” she continued. “But their behavior became more painful than their absence.”

TODAY.com reached out to both Linda Hogan and Hulk Hogan at the time for comment, and did not receive a reply.

Hulk Hogan died on July 24, 2025, after a cardiac emergency prompted a response from police and fire personnel, according to NBC News.

The wrestling icon, known for his showmanship, was married to Linda Hogan from 1983 to 2009. In addition to Brooke Hogan, who was born in 1988, the couple shares a son, Nick Hogan, born in 1990.

In 2025, Brook Hogan and Oleksy welcomed their fraternal twins, Oliver and Molly.
