Savannah Blackstock Lee has paid tribute to her father, Brandon Blackstock, in her first comments since his death at 48 from cancer.
The oldest daughter of the talent manager is one of two children Blackstock shared with first wife Melissa Ashworth, which includes her brother, Seth Blackstock.
Blackstock Lee shared a series of family photos with her father and a touching tribute on Instagram on Aug. 19.
โMy daddy never fell short of making my dreams come true,” she wrote. “No matter how high or how far, he made a way. Not only did he make my dreams come true, he chased them with me. Worldwide he was there, my biggest cheerleader. He is my best friend, my voice of reason, and my favorite phone call every day.”
Brandon Blackstock was a father of four, as he also shared two children with ex-wife Kelly Clarkson.
He died on Aug. 7 at his home in Butte, Montana, of melanoma, according to his family and the Silver Bow County Coroner.
“Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years,” his family said in a statement announcing his death. “He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the familyโs privacy during this very difficult time.โ
His daughter wrote that “a relationship centered in Jesus” was a new part of her connection with her father that he “gifted” her.
“I lost a piece of my heart and my favorite Cowboy, but Heaven gained an angel,” Blackstock Lee wrote. “Iโm so thankful for the time I did have and I canโt wait for eternity. I love you daddy and I will miss you indefinitely. Enjoy your ranch up there, God designed it with your heartโs desires in mind.”
Blackstock Lee made multiple public appearances over the years with her father and his two children with Clarkson.
In 2019, she shared a red carpet with her brother and her half siblings, River Rose and Remy Alexander, at the premiere of the animated movie “UglyDolls.” Clarkson voiced one of the characters in the film.
Blackstock Lee and River Rose also joined Clarkson on the red carpet ahead of the 2017 American Music Awards.
Her tribute is the latest from the family in the wake of his death.
Blackstock’s stepmother, country music legend Reba McEntire, and her son, Shelby Blackstock, each shared remembrances.
“There is no one else like him, and Iโm thankful for the time we had together,โ McEntire wrote on Instagram. โHis legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.โ
