Aaron Rodgers is sharing rare details about his personal life and marriage.
Rodgers, who signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers after he was released from the New York Jets in February, offered insight into his marriage to Brittani during a recent interview with sports personality Kyle Brandt.
When asked by Brandt on the NFL Network how being married would affect him as a player, Rodgers, replied, “How much time do you have? When you meet the right one and you’re with the right one, your whole world changes in a second.”
“To have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there’s no better feeling in the world,” he continued. “I got the most incredible wife. I just really love her and I’m so thankful to have her by my side at the end. When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you can do anything.”
Rodgers has been tight-lipped about his personal life and his relationship with his now wife, including details about their nuptials.
The NFL quarterback confirmed that he got married during a June press conference, months after sharing he was in a “serious relationship” on an April episode of “The Pat McAfee Show”
At the press conference, one reporter asked about the ring the quarterback had been sporting on his left ring finger and inquired if it was a wedding ring.
Rodgers simply replied, “Yeah, it’s a wedding ring.”
When another journalist asked when the wedding happened, Rodgers said, “It’s been a couple of months,” but didn’t divulge any more details.
That same month, Rodgers appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” to discuss his new chapter with the Steelers as well as his personal life. During the interview, Rodgers emphasized his decision to keep his wife and her personal life private.
“It’s a sick society, isn’t it?” Rodgers told McAfee. “I’ve lived in the public eye for 20 years. I had a public relationship. How did that work out?”
Rodgers was previously engaged to actor Shailene Woodley, but the couple split in 2022.
Though he didn’t specify which relationship he was discussing, Rodgers referenced past instances where his address was leaked as well as unwanted attention from paparazzi.
“I didn’t like any of that and now I’m with somebody who’s private, who doesn’t want to be in the public eye,” he explained. “(She) didn’t sign up to be a celebrity, doesn’t want to be a part of it.”
Rodgers claimed that paparazzi were following him in an attempt to photograph his wife, calling it a security issue above all.
“My wife is a private person, doesn’t have social media, hasn’t been a public person, doesn’t want to be a public person,” he said, before later adding, “I know that I’ve chosen to be in the public eye for one more season, but my private life is staying private.”
