These happy days are yours and mine! Fonzie, Richie Cunningham, Potsie Weber and Ralph Malph are back together for a happy, happy reunion.
The former “Happy Days” cast, featuring Henry Winkler, Ron Howard, Anson Williams and Don Most, joined the Steel City Con for a panel in Pennsylvania.
“This is the first time we have appeared this way in 50 years,” Winkler, who played Arthur Fonzarelli on the show, told the crowd.
Following applause, Howard, who played Richie, added, “It feels like 50 minutes because we have had so much fun hanging, and this was sort of our great excuse to come together.”
During the discussion among the four, the actors reminisced on their time “goofing around” on the 1970s and ‘80s sitcom, along with their audition process.
Williams, who played Potsie, revealed that Most originally screen tested for the role. “But they liked him so much they created Ralph for him,” Williams said.
They additionally recapped improvising on the show, acting in front of a live audience and what they’re up to nowadays. The actors also took questions from the crowd.
“Happy Days” ran for 11 seasons from 1974 to 1984 and followed a Milwaukee family living in the 1950s and ‘60s. The show led to several spinoffs, including “Laverne & Shirley” and “Mork & Mindy.”
In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette before the convention, Winkler confirmed the appearance marked their first time attending a comic con all together.
“We see each other, we talk to each other, support each other. But this is the first time that we will be together in a public setting. It’s so exciting, I can’t tell you,” he said.
Members of the group have also had some notable public reunions one-on-one. At the Emmy Awards in September 2024, Winkler and Howard presented the award for best directing for a comedy series amid a re-creation of their beloved set to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary.
In a sweet moment on stage, the pair hit the jukebox, and the “Happy Days” theme song began to play in an ode to the nostalgic tune.
Earlier that year, in February 2024, Howard and Winkler reunited for an event for Winkler’s memoir, “Being Henry: The Fonz … and Beyond,” in Sydney, Australia.
“LIFE! As the WORLD turns @RealRonHoward came to my book event in Sydney Australia. SO exciting for everyone !!!!” Winkler captioned a photo of the pair on X.
Howard re-shared the post, writing that he had finished wrapping his movie “Eden” in Australia when he heard about Winkler’s event.
“When I touched base with Henry, I discovered he was making an appearance here in support of his excellent best-selling memoir #BeingHenry: The Fonz…and Beyond. Fantastic! We connected backstage and I watched him give a great speech to a huge crowd. What a blast!” Howard wrote.
