Bob Saget can still make “Full House” co-star Dave Coulier laugh in the unlikeliest of places.
Saget died in 2022 at the age of 65 from head trauma, but Coulier says he’s visited by him in his sleep.
“I miss Bob so much. I truly had a brother (in him). I met Bob when I was 18 years old,” Coulier told Parade.
“And by the way, yes, he comes to me in my dreams, and he always does something silly and foolish and makes me laugh.”
Coulier, 65, has dealt with his own health issues over the last several months, revealing on TODAY in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Earlier this week, he confirmed to TODAY.com that he is cancer-free. Coulier says he knows that Saget would have gone above and beyond to check in on him while he was sick.
“He would have called me every day: ‘How are you doing? What’s the prognosis, Dave? Tell me what’s going on.’ He would have driven me crazy,” Coulier said. “It was a lovable crazy that he had. I think about him often. I’ll be having a moment of clarity, and I’ll think, ‘Oh, call Bob,’ and then I realize I can’t.”
Coulier and Saget starred on “Full House” for eight seasons from 1987 until 1995 and then reprised their roles as Joey and Danny, respectively, on the Netflix reboot “Fuller House,” which ran for five seasons from 2016 until 2020.
The “Full House” cast was left reeling after Saget died and on the one-year anniversary of his death, Coulier paid tribute to him and their long history together, beginning when they were young comedians.
“Bob could always bring out the 5th grader in me. I met him when I was just an unknown, 18 year-old standup at a small club in Detroit,” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of the two of them on the steps of the San Francisco house the Tanner family called home on “Full House.” “We became instant brothers.
“Sometimes, I still grab my phone, ready to share one of the hundreds of silly bits that we did together. At some point today, I’ll think about how much I miss him and I’ll shed some tears. Then I’ll hear Bob’s voice, and it’ll make me laugh. Enjoy the gifts of life while they’re still here with you. Tell those you love that you love them … and hug them like Bob Saget.”
