Bindi Irwin was noticeably absent from the “Halloween Night” episode of “Dancing With the Stars.”
On Instagram, the wildlife conservationist explained why she wasn’t in the audience to watch her younger brother, Robert Irwin, perform.
“Chandler, Grace and I all got a bug and I’ve completely lost my voice now…so we will be cheering (quietly) from our living room for Robert and Witney on @dancingwiththestars,” she said while referencing her husband and 4-year-old daughter.
She noted that she’s proud of how hard her brother and his dance partner, Witney Carson, have worked this season.
“They have an incredible dance for Halloween week, beyond proud of their hard work and dedication,” she said shortly before the episode on Oct. 28.
At the end of the caption, Bindi Irwin urged her followers to vote for Robert Irwin.
Her mom, Terri Irwin, commented, “Sending get well vibes!”
Bindi Irwin shares her daughter with her husband, Chandler Powell. In the post, she included a cute snap of them all together.
Though Bindi Irwin wasn’t in the audience to support her brother, Robert Irwin still came out on top for Halloween Night. He received the second best score of the night after dancing a tango to “Sweet Dreams Are Made of This,” by The Hampton String Quartet.
At the end of the episode, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Jen Affleck was eliminated from the competition.
“I cannot wait to talk about this in the future with my kids,” she said about leaving the show. “I did this for my kids. … I can’t tell you how much it meant to me.”
Affleck tied for lowest score of the night with actor Elaine Hendrix, who was hospitalized after sustaining a rib injury during rehearsals. Due to the incident, she and her partner, Alan Bersten, were judged on their taped rehearsal.
Hendrix is now recovering and has been cleared by doctors to continue dancing in the competition.
