The family of Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband and the father of her two children, shared the tragic news that Blackstock has died at 48 from cancer.
โIt is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” the family said in a statement. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the familyโs privacy during this very difficult time.โ

Blackstock was a talent manager who also had a producer credit on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as well as the television special “Blake Shelton Live: It’s All About Tonight,” according to IMDb.
The announcement of Blackstock’s death came a day after Clarkson, 43, said she was postponing the remainder of her August “Studio Sessions” shows in Las Vegas during Blackstock’s illness to be with her children.
โWhile I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my childrenโs father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,โ she wrote on Instagram on Aug. 6.
Blackstockโs father, Narvel, is also a talent manager who was once married to country music legend Reba McEntire, Brandonโs stepmother.
โBrandonโs been my son forever it seems. Although heโs my stepson, I still love him like heโs my total โ my blood, so Iโm praying for โem both โcause I love โem both,โ McEntire told “Entertainment Tonight” at the time of his divorce from Clarkson.
Clarkson and Blackstock, who separated in 2020 after seven years of marriage and finalized their divorce two years later, share daughter River Rose, who was born in 2014, and son Remington Alexander, born in 2016.
Blackstock also had two children from a previous marriage, son Seth Blackstock and daughter Savannah Blackstock.

Clarkson lives with her children in New York City, where she also hosts her daytime talk show, โThe Kelly Clarkson Show.โ
