However the chemistry between Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson is defined, Daniel Neeson seems on board with it.
Liam Neeson’s son, 28, was in the audience for Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live“ on Aug. 3, when host Andy Cohen promised “The Naked Gun” co-stars he wouldn’t ask them to define their relationship during the interview — while noting he’d support a romance, should that be the case.
The actors, who have not confirmed a romantic relationship, shared a laugh before Cohen told Liam Neeson, “I do just want to say, as a very old friend of yours, all of your friends are very much stanning this relationship, as the kids say.”
While Anderson replied, “Aw,” as Liam Neeson put his hand on her shoulder, the two didn’t comment further.
“Right, Danny?” Cohen asked Daniel Neeson in the audience.
A faint “Yes” could be heard in the background before the camera panned to Daniel Neeson, who flashed a smile and laughed.
“Yes, OK, very good,” Cohen continued.
Cohen was the latest person to inquire about the flirty friendship between Anderson, 58, and Neeson, 73, that has been on display as they promote “The Naked Gun,” a reboot of the classic 1988 comedy. The movie was released on Aug. 1 and made $17 million at the domestic box office over the weekend.
TODAY’s Craig Melvin pointedly asked the co-stars about their chemistry on July 29.
“What’s the deal here?” Craig asked on TODAY. “You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?”
“Craig!” Neeson replied.
“What?” asked an exasperated Anderson. “I don’t understand the question.”
“I had never met Pamela before. We met on set. And we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry — as two actors,” Neeson said.
“Yeah,” agreed Anderson.
“It’s like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe,’” Neeson continued. “And that’s what we did.”
Their respective families have also shown their support for their parents throughout the press tour. Anderson’s two sons, Brandon Lee, 29, and Dylan Lee, 27, joined Danny Neeson and his brother, Michaeál Richardson, 30, at “The Naked Gun” premiere in New York City on July 28.
Neeson’s shared his two sons with his late wife, actor Natasha Richardson, who died in 2009 in a skiing accident. Anderson’s shares her two sons with her ex-husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
In “The Naked Gun,” Neeson plays Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the original character played by Leslie Nielsen. Anderson plays his love interest, Beth Davenport.
The movie represents both actors playing out of their comfort zone in a zany spoof comedy, which left Anderson praising Neeson’s acting skills and commending him for helping her when she was worried about comic timing.
“He has so much charm and so much charisma that you kind of just fall into it,” Anderson told The New York Times. “I can’t explain it because I’ve never experienced it before.”
