‘I Look Like My Son’

Tyra Banks and Jenna Bush Hager are ready to prove that wigs shouldn’t just be kept in the closet and dragged out for Halloween.

Fresh off her new bob haircut, Jenna enlisted the help of her latest “TODAY with Jenna & Friends” guest co-host to have a “hairy” good time at one of Banks’ favorite wig shops.

During their outing, the supermodel took Jenna to Barry Hendrickson’s Bitz-n-Pieces, which she described as her wig “Mecca.” It’s the same shop where Banks once bought the iconic blond wig she wore on the Victoria’s Secret runway many years ago.

“So do you think if I buy the perfect wig, I can be on the Victoria’s Secret runway?” Jenna asked the model in a segment that aired on July 28.

“Now you understand. That’s what it’s about. It’s about the wig,” Banks teased.

Jenna was quick to admit that her history with wigs has been mostly limited to Halloween costumes thus far. Banks said she was eager to change that.

“Today, people wear wigs all the time. It’s almost like our parents’ day, like the ’60s, and they were just wearing wigs and that was life. That’s back,” she said.

The duo tried on a handful of wigs during their trip to the wig shop, which has been in business for nearly 40 years.

Up first? Jenna tried a long blond wig that gave her “Elsa vibes” since it looked like something the Disney princess would wear.

Banks said the wig was placed “too low.”

“So many people put it too low. You’ve gotta find your hairline, Jenna,” Banks said, adjusting the wig.

Banks said the wig gave Jenna “rocker” vibes but washed her out so she moved on to a long brunette wig next.

“I’m so sweet, like a teacher,” Jenna exclaimed as she looked in the mirror.

Banks then pulled some of Jenna’s real hair out to teach her how to make her hairline look more natural.

When Jenna tried a short blond wig, she had a lukewarm reaction, even though Banks thought she was a “short hair diva.”

“I think I look like a cute little boy. Who is he? I look like (my son) Hal Hager,” Jenna joked.

Up next, Jenna experimented with a long silver wig.

“I’ll take it home to my husband and show him what he’s got to look forward to,” she said.

During the live segment, both Jenna and Banks rocked larger-than-life beehive wigs. Jenna had tried the look during her wig fitting and said, “We know this is not my look.”

“This is Marge Simpson. You never know,” Banks replied.

On the show, Jenna said she wanted to call Banks “Marge” while she was wearing the wig. Meanwhile, Banks wanted to call Jenna “Margette.”

“These were our favorites,” Jenna said.

“I feel like this is the look everybody at home should know that this is the season — not,” Banks joked.

“Yeah exactly, not what people are wearing,” Jenna replied.
