Hogan met his first wife, Linda Claridge, at a venue called the Red Onion outside of Los Angeles, he wrote in his 2009 memoir, “My Life Outside the Ring.”

Hogan wrote that she asked him to dance, and he said no. But he later bought her a drink.

“After that initial meeting at the Red Onion, she played hard to get and that drove me wild,” he wrote. “I kept calling her and calling her.”

“I was completely hooked from day one,” he added.

After about a year and a half of dating, Hogan proposed, and the pair married in LA on Dec. 18, 1983.

He wrote that they didn’t have time for a traditional honeymoon, but that they both traveled for his wrestling matches.

“Staying in different hotel rooms and partying every night, those first few years felt like a honeymoon that never ended,” he wrote.

The couple welcomed their first child, Brooke, in 1988, and their second child, Nick, in 1990.

The family appeared on the reality TV show “Hogan Knows Best,” which premiered in 2005 and ran for four seasons.

Hogan said his wife had “no idea.”

Linda Hogan filed for divorce in November 2007, according to court records the Tampa Bay Times obtained.

Hulk Hogan spoke about the proceedings in an interview with Access Hollywood in 2008, according to NBC News.

“This is a simple divorce — there’s no custody, there’s just a big pile of junk that we’ve accumulated. We should split it however the judge wants it and walk away, but, you know, my wife’s lawyer has told different magazines there’s gonna be a war,” he said. “This is the money that I saved for my family, and money that Linda could walk away with, money that I saved for my children, that they’re just, they’re just wasting (it) and burning (it) up.”

The pair finalized their divorce in 2009, The Associated Press reported at the time.
