Katie Holmes and her “Dawson’s Creek” co-star Joshua Jackson are reuniting for a new feature film trilogy.
The actors are set to star in “Happy Hours,” a story about “two people (Jackson and Holmes) navigating their relationship within the challenges of careers and family responsibilities and the pursuit of love despite lifeโs inevitable obstacles,” a press release reads.
“The film is a character driven dramedy that explores the emotional journey of young loves who reconnect as adults, with the connective thread of shared joys, loss, and hope,” it adds.
Along with starring in the trilogy, Holmes is set to write and direct the project that’ll see her reunite with Jackson. The duo haven’t worked together since they filmed “Dawson’s Creek” over 20 years ago.
Other stars who’ll be appearing in “Happy Hours” are Mary Louise Parker, Constance Wu, Joe Tippett, John McGinty, Donald Webber Jr, Nathan Darrow, Johnna Dias-Watson and Jack Martin.
On Instagram, Holmes said she’s “so very grateful” to work with these “wonderful friends” again.
“Working with Josh after so many years is a testament to friendship,” she added. “HAPPY HOURS is a love story that includes so many people I adore. We canโt wait for everyone to see what we make.”
Like her acting career, Holmes also has plenty of experience behind the camera. Sheโs previously directed a number of projects, which she also starred in, like 2023โs โRare Objects,โ 2022โs โAlone Togetherโ and 2016โs โAll We Had.โ
During a 2017 appearance on Build series, Holmes opened up about what itโs like to direct, saying, โAt this point in my life, itโs really exciting to take on more and to put my vision out there.โ
