Denise Richards’ and her husband, Aaron Phypers, are separating after six years of marriage.
Phypers filed a petition for a dissolution of marriage without minor children to a Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, July 7, TODAY.com confirmed.
Richards and Phypers recently shared a look inside their home and family life in the Bravo series “Denise Richards & Her Wild Things.” The eight-episode reality show premiered in March.
The former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star and Phypers, a fellow actor, tied the knot in an intimate Malibu ceremony in September 2018, People reported at the time. She also spoke about their nuptials during Season 9 of “RHOBH,” and Phypers appeared on that season of the Bravo reality television series, as well.
Richards was previously married to Charlie Sheen from 2002 to 2006. They share two children together: Sami Sheen, 21 and Lola Sheen, 20. Richards is also a mom to daughter Eloise Joni Richards, 14, whom she adopted in 2011 as a single mom.
During an episode of “RHOBH,” Richards explained her decision to invite Sheen to her wedding, saying it was for the sake of their children.
“No matter what’s gone down with Charlie and I, I invite Charlie to everything having to do with the kids and I,” she said in a 2019 episode.
Following her beachside wedding, the “Wild Things” star also called out critics who didn’t approve of her wedding dress.
“It’s a sexy dress and it’s fun,” Richards told USA Today after her nuptials. “It was appropriate because we got married in Malibu overlooking the ocean. I’m a beachy girl. I like that it was short and it wasn’t a gown.”
The Mark Zunino strapless design was created in 24 hours and featured a lace romper with a removable tulle skirt.
“To critics of my dress: I loved it, that’s all I care about,” she said. “At their wedding, they can wear whatever they want.”
Phypers, on his end, was previously in a relationship with “Desperate Housewives” actor Nicollette Sheridan. They were married from 2015 to 2018.
