The second season of โThe Ultimatum: Queer Loveโ has come to a conclusion, with six couples deciding whether or not to move forward with their relationships.
As of the July 2 finale, which of the Season 2 couples got engaged? Which split up? How many are still together as of the reunion, set a year following Ultimatum Day?

AJ Blount and Britney Thompson
What happened on the show? Britney gave AJ an ultimatum. She believed that AJ was not interested in marriage because she felt that AJ was not getting as much attention as her business. Through her trial marriage to Marita, Britney learned work-life balance. In the reunion, AJ also shared that Marita told her that Britney would always choose her before her career. By Ultimatum Day, the two were the first to get engaged.
Relationship status: AJ and Britney are still together and madly in love. AJ also stepped up her engagement game too, getting Britney a shinier ring than the one she proposed with Ultimatum Day. They donโt have a set wedding date yet. Since then, they also spend time with Dayna and Magan, and Marita.
Haley Drexler and Pilar Dizon
What happened on the show? Haley gave Pilar the ultimatum after they had been together for more than a decade. When Haley and Magan were paired for their trial marriages, one of Pilarโs greatest fears came true: they had a very close and personal bond and declared their love for one another. Haley and Pilar reconvened during the changeover, and Pilar told Haley to follow her heart. Haley ultimately embraced Pilar, saying their time during the changeover felt like a real marriage. Pilar popped the question and the two became engaged.
Relationship status: Haley and Pilar are still engaged. โShe was dying to get a ring on her finger also. So I told her within the next year I would make sure that I made it a priority to get down on one knee,โ Haley shared in the reunion. โAnd I did it less than a month later.
While wedding dates arenโt set, they intend to elope. โI better be on it,โ AJ said.
Kyle Neal and Bridget Matloff
What happened on the show? The ultimatum came from Kyle, who was ready to settle down. Bridget, meanwhile, said she โnever really understood the point of marriage.โ During her trial marriage with Pilar, Kyle worked through her communication issues. Meanwhile, Bridget learned that marriage is about choosing someone that youโre willing to change with. On Ultimatum Day, Bridget popped the question, and Kyle accepted.
Relationship status: The two are still happily engaged. During the reunion, Kyleโs mother recorded a video message in which she made a reference to a “Wicked” song to say how Kyle has been โchanged for good.โ
Mel Vitale and Marie Robertson
What happened on the show? Marie issued Mel an ultimatum as after four years together. The two shared a food truck business together and Marie was ready to settle down. Mel was put through a trial marriage with Dayna. The two became very close and got matching tattoos by the end of their experience. But this put Melโs relationship with Marie at a crossroads. By Ultimatum Day, Mel proposed and Marie accepted.
Relationship status: As of the reunion, Marie and Mel are not together. โโWith Marieโ is nonexistent. Period,โ Mel said when host JoAnna Garcia Swisher asked about their relationship. Marie broke up with Mel a couple of months after the Ultimatum experience. Their food truck business also became Melโs.
Dayna Mathews and Magan Mourad
What happened on the show? Dayna gave Magan the ultimatum as she was ready to tie the knot. However, Magan was anxious about having to come out to her family, a dealbreaker for Dayna. In Maganโs trial marriage with Haley, the two shared a close bond and even hooked up several times. The same also goes for Dayna and Mel. During the changeover, they had a number of arguments based on their emotionally turbulent trial marriages. The two soon made up and got engaged.
Relationship status: Dayna and Magan are still engaged. Dayna experienced feelings of guilt as she reflected on her behavior and apologized to Marie. A number of adorable engagement photos and videos, including one of the couple hanging out with AJ and Britney on her birthday, were shared. Similar to every other engaged couple, they havenโt decided when to tie the knot.
Magan has finally included Dayna in her family life. โShe actually came around for Thanksgiving last year,โ Magan shared tearfully. โI never really brought anyone home for Thanksgiving before.โ Theyโre now planning for both Dayna and Maganโs parents to meet soon.
Marita Prodger and Ashley Johnson
What happened on the show: Ashley issued the ultimatum to Marita. In her trial marriage with Britney, Marita made the most of their time together, as they shared a deep connection. During her trial marriage, it seemed that what Marita needed was romance. Marita said Britney showed her the affection and romance that Ashley never could.
Relationship status: On Ultimatum Day, Ashley broke it off with Marita. As of the reunion, they are still broken up. During the reunion, Ashley revealed that they traveled to Key West after the breakup. But Marita shared that Ashley tried to get her to the Keys because โnone of the show mattered. All of that was for show.โ
The two fought at the reunion and things got heated. Marita told Ashley she hated her and Ashley got up and walked away, sobbing. Mel went off-screen to help Ashley come down. Britney also gave Marita a hug in support. When she came back, Marita apologized, saying it would take time to reconcile.
