It’s a great day to be a BTS fan.
The seven members of the group reunited during a Weverse livestream on July 1 to announce their long-awaited return to the stage and a new album. This marked the group’s first joint livestream since completing their mandatory military service.
RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook chatted with their fans, known as Army, and revealed that later this month they will head to the U.S. to work on their next album.
โWeโll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year. Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music,โ the group said in a statement. โSince it will be a group album, it will reflect each memberโs thoughts and ideas. Weโre approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.โ
The album is expected to be released in spring 2026.
Additionally, the group also announced a massive world tour that will accompany their spring album.
โWeโre also planning a world tour alongside the new album. Weโll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope youโre as excited as we are,โ the statement added.
This will be BTSโ first world tour since their โBTS Permission to Dance on Stageโ performances concluded in 2022. That same year, the K-pop group went on hiatus, as the eldest member, Jin, started his military enlistment process.
The last time the Grammy-nominated group were all together on a livestream was in 2024 when Jin was discharged from the military.
In 2023, J-Hope and Suga were the next members to enlist in the military, with Jung Kook, V, Jimin and RM as the final four to begin their military service.
Last month, RM, V, Jung Kook and Jimin were all discharged the same week, while Suga became the last member to complete his service on June 21.
