Keke Palmer Shares How to Make Jammy Eggs, Her ‘Latest Obsession’

Keke Palmer will never say “Nope” to this tasty breakfast.

On June 6, the singer and actor joined host Scott Evans for an episode of the YouTube show “House Guest.” For over an hour, the Palmer discussed her new album “Just Keke,” abstaining from meat (but also, her favorite fried chicken spots) and her current hyperfixation meal: jammy eggs.

“I eat the same thing every day,” Palmer tells Evans with a matter-of-fact tone. “For at least a good week. Like right now I’m on to the jammy eggs. Oh, yeah.”

Evans responds with curiosity, and in case you’re in the same boat: A jammy egg refers to one that is halfway between soft-boiled and hard-boiled (medium-boiled!), and the white is fully set and the yolk is still creamy — the texture of jam.

“Jammy egg, it’s literally taking over my whole algorithm,” Palmer continues her ode to the popular preparation while Evans laughs. “Everything I look at is jammy eggs, jammy egg — jammy egg on toast, jammy egg on rice, jammy egg, just jammy egg.”

Evans says he’s going to change Palmer’s name to “Jammy Egg” in his phone — but a focused Palmer gives him the full rundown.

“You put it in boiling water for seven minutes,” she explains. “You take it out, put it in the ice bath, like the cool kids are doing with the ice plunge. You put it in the ice bath for three minutes. Take it out.”

She then suggests a marinade to take those jammy eggs to the next level: Soak them in soy sauce, tamarind, rice vinegar, chili, ginger and “maybe a little bit of garlic” overnight.

“You wake up in the morning, crack it open over some rice,” Palmer says “Oh, yeah, that’s a jammy egg for your a–. It’s good.”

“Let her cook!” she adds, and after copious amounts of laughter, Evans asks if she can actually cook.

“I mean, I can cook a mean jammy egg,” she says, before thinking for a moment. “I can cook great breakfast. Great with a pancake, great with eggs, bacon, all that kind of stuff.”

On TikTok, the hashtag #jammyegg holds hundreds of videos, and that might be where the “One of Them Days” star has been watching them. People have also taken to using her instructions as a sound on the platform.

Thanks to Palmer, older jammy egg-focused videos are getting more play: On a TikTok from September 2021, in which a user shows how to make a jammy egg in an air fryer, the top comment mentions the star by name.

“Keke Palmer brought me here in 2025😩😂😂,” they wrote.
