Sara Burack, a luxury real estate agent who appeared on Netflix’s “Million Dollar Beach House,” has died following a hit-and-run on Long Island in New York. She was 40.
Burack was found unconscious, lying in the roadway on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays in the early hours of June 19, according to a press release from the Southampton Town Police Department.
Officers responded to the roadway, which is in the vicinity of Villa Paul Restaurant. Burack was discovered with serious injuries and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she later died. The driver involved appears to have fled the scene and remains unidentified.
Burack began building her real estate career after graduating from Franklin and Marshall College and beginning as an account manager and sales assistant, according to her LinkedIn page.
Eventually, she joined Nest Seekers, a luxury residential and commercial brokerage firm. During her time at the company, she specialized in leasing, buying and selling properties in the tri-state area. In 2022, she appeared in Netflix’s reality series “Million Dollar Beach House,” which followed real estate agents as they wrangled to sell properties. The show ran for one season.
In an interview with Hamptons.com ahead of the show’s release, Burack spoke about her work selling real estate in the seaside summer destination and the personal experience that led to her career.
“My family has a commercial construction material sales business that I spent many years of my life working for,” she explained. “I have always been intrigued by real estate projects and decided to become a broker after my experience as a summer property manager in the summer house I would rent.”
Southampton Town Police detectives and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit are now investigating Burack’s death. Currently, they have no eyewitnesses or suspect information.
