Every year, the biggest stars in Hollywood grace the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City to attend the Met Gala, the most exclusive fashion event of the year.
Since 2013, members of the Kardashian- Jenner family have been among the celebrities who managed to score an invite or have gone as a plus-one.
In 2022, all the adult members of the famous family โ Kim Kardashian, Khloรฉ Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner โ made it to the gala for the first time and they didnโt disappoint. Each member showcased their individuality with their Gilded Glamour couture.
Last year, which featured the Met Gala dress code of “The Garden of Time” in honor of the โSleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashionโ theme, only Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner and Kris Jenner walked the carpet.
The family didn’t pose for photos together and instead opted for solo moments at the 2024 Met Gala.
So, how will they embrace the “Tailored for You” theme at the 2025 Met Gala?
Before the biggest night in fashion kicks off on May 5, revisit all of the Kardashian-Jenner familyโs ensembles from the last decade.
Here’s every look the Kardashian-Jenner family has worn to the Met Gala:
2013: Kanye West with plus-one Kim Kardashian
Theme: “Punk: Chaos to Couture”
Kim Kardashian and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, attended the Met Gala together in 2013. While pregnant with their first child, North, the entrepreneur wore a floral long-sleeved gown by Ricardo Tisci for Givenchy.
In a 2019 tweet, Kim Kardashian said she was โso nervousโ and attended as her then-boyfriendโs plus-one. She added, โI didnโt know anyone &ย Iโm sure no one wanted me there lol. I did my own lipstick & the color is so off. I went home & cried after of insecurity but this is one of my fave looks now.โ
โKanye was performing so I wasnโt actually invited; I was just Kanyeโs plus one. And that was OK with me because I never really dreamed I would be at the Met Ball,โ she told Vogue in 2019. โI know no one really probably wanted me there at the time.โ
After her outfit went viral for all the wrong reasons, she broke down.
โI think Robin Williams evenย tweeted it, said I looked like Mrs. Doubtfire,โ she said. โI was crying the whole way home because I just couldnโt believe it.โ
2014: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Theme: โCharles James: Beyond Fashionโ
During her second appearance at the Met Gala, Kim Kardashian donned a strapless blue satin gown by Alber Elbaz for Lanvin. In a tweet, the reality star revealed that this time around, she got her own invitation and wasnโt Ye’s plus one.
โWe just had our Vogue cover & Alber gave me the dress I wore on the cover so Anna suggested I wear Lanvin,โ Kardashian recalled. โNot sure why we picked blue lol. Following our cover, this is a dream.โ
2014: Kendall Jenner
For her Met Gala debut, Kendall Jenner opted for a custom strapless corset dress by Topshop. Constructed with a neutral satin fabric, the gown hugged the model down to her knees before it fanned out into a voluminous skirt.
2015: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Theme: “China: Through the Looking Glass”
For her third year at the exclusive event, Kim Kardashian wore a nude-illusion gown by Peter Dundas for Roberto Cavalli, embellished with silver beads along the shoulder, chest and skirt, along with a feathered hem. Kim Kardashian revealed later in a tweet that she was two months pregnant with her second child, Saint, and was โdesperately trying to hide it.โ
โI felt so confident this year!โ she said. โI had more of an opinion and collaborated so well. I really felt so good this night.โ
2015: Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner โ affectionately known as the “momager” โ made her Met Gala debut in 2015 wearing a bold red Balmain gown. With her hair styled up into a “fauxhawk,” she accessorized her look with a pair of statement earrings, gold belt, and black heels with a gold pointed toe.
2015: Kendall Jenner
For the โChina: Through The Looking Glassโ theme, Kendall Jenner went for a more classic silhouette by Calvin Kelin, with a bit of a twist. Her gown was constructed with a shimmering green crocheted fabric, adorned with cut-outs along her side that were laced loosely together with matching green strings.
2016: Kim Kardashian
Theme: โManus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technologyโ
In her next gala look, Kim Kardashian wore a silver metallic long-sleeved gown with a thigh-high split by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. She said in a tweet that she felt โinsecureโ during the 2016 Met Gala because she didnโt lose her baby weight after giving birth to son Saint.
โBig mistake to bleach the brows but Kanye looked so good this year with those blue eyes!โ she said of his colored contacts. โIt was super controversial that he wore denim.โ
2016: Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner went full goth for theโManus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technologyโ theme, wearing a long-sleeved black sequined gown by Balmain. She wore a dark smokey eye along with a black choker necklace as her statement accessory.
2016: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner stunned in an Atelier Versace gown on the red carpet at the 2016 Met Gala. The blue and white halter neck gown featured two large cut-outs above her hip, along with nude illusion cut-outs throughout the entirety of the dress.
2016: Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner made her Met Gala debut in a stunning silver metallic gown. The Kylie Cosmetics founder, known for her ever-changing hairstyles, opted for a sleek black bob to contrast the strong-shouldered beaded ensemble.
2017: Kim Kardashian solo
Theme: โRei Kawakubo/Comme des Garรงons: Art of the In-Betweenโ
For the first time, Kim Kardashian flew solo in a white off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown from the archive.
โI was so nervous to go by myself I almost threw up on the way & I had to pee every second..โ she said in a tweet. โI was FaceTiming my sisters to meet up at the top of the stairs.โ
2017: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner opted for a barely-there La Perla gown made from a sparkling netted material — right down to the shoes!
2017: Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner hit the red carpet with a platinum blonde bob, a departure from her previous black hairstyle. The entrepreneur donned a nude sheer gown by Versace, embellished with beads and miniature fans along the sleeves and body.
2018: Kim Kardashian
Theme: โHeavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imaginationโ
For the 2018 Met Gala red carpet, Kim Kardashian wore a body-hugging gold sequin Versace gown, embellished with cross details along the bodice and hips. She explained the backstory behind her look in a tweet, writing in part, โThis dress was inspired by the iconic gold chainmail and cross designs from the 1997 Versace couture show.โ
2018: Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner, who attended with her longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, wore a black Tommy Hilfiger gown. The dress featured sheer sleeves, a gold embellished bodice and neckline, all leading into a feathered skirt.
2018: Kylie Jenner
The 2018 Met Gala brought on a whole new set of problems for the youngest Jenner. She attended the event three months after giving birth to her daughter, Stormi, which caused some technical difficulties when it came to her black Alexander Wang strapless gown.
In fact, People reported that on her Instagram Stories in 2020, she revealed that the exposed zipper alongside the side of the gown was added later after the dress ripped when she put it on.
2018: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner worked with the late Virgil Abloh for the 2018 Met Gala, wearing custom Off-White on the carpet. The look resembled her sister Kim Kardashian’s white 2017 gown, but rather than a dress, Jenner donned an off-the-shoulder white jumpsuit with a pair of sheer gloves.
2019: Kanye West and Kim Kardashian
Theme: โCamp: Notes on Fashionโ
Kim Kardashianโs Thierry Mugler dress at the 2019 Met Gala was one of the reality starโs most unforgettable looks. For her camp ensemble, Kardashian wore a silicone and organza mini dress adorned with crystal droplets to lean into the โwetโ look.
The main component of the look was her barely there waist โ made possible by a corset, which she said limited her movement and would only allow her to โhalf-sit.โ
2019: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner coordinated with her younger sister for the evening’s events, both wearing showgirl-inspired beaded and feathered looks by Versace. The model donned a bright orange v-neck gown, adorned with a voluminous feathered collar, which traveled down her left arm.
2019: Kylie Jenner
The youngest member of the family went all out in lilac for the festivities. Wearing a beaded strapless gown with a feathered hem and coordinating half-sleeves, she completed the outfit with a long purple wig.
She ended up re-creating the look on her daughter Stormi for Halloween months later, too!
2019: Kris Jenner
Kris Jennerโs 2019 custom jumpsuit and jacket by Tommy Hilfiger got no love from two of her daughters. In a clip from their old reality TV show โKeeping Up With the Kardashiansโ shared on Instagram, Kim and Khloรฉ Kardashian mercilessly teased their mom about her ensemble for the evening when she showed them what she planned on wearing.
โLook at this! What is this and who do you think you are?โ Khloรฉ Kardashian said, to which Kim Kardashian added, โHonestly, if I sent this to Kanye, he might have a heart attack.โ
2021: Kim Kardashian
Theme: โIn America: A Lexicon of Fashionโ
Kim Kardashianโs Met Gala 2021 Balenciaga ensemble was unique to say the least, garnering plenty of reactions across social media for the all-black, full-body look, including a face covering.
Kim Kardashian revealed onย Amanda Hirschโs โNot Skinny But Not Fatโ podcast in April 2022 that she met ex-boyfriend Pete Davidson at this gala during a brief moment on the red carpet where he offered her advice about hosting โSaturday Night Live.” He also tried to give her his number, she recalled, but she couldnโt access her phone with her gloves on.ย
2021: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner channeled her inner Audrey Hepburn from โMy Fair Ladyโ in her 2021 look. Donning a sparkling silver Givenchy gown, the model paired her dress with a stunning statement collar necklace, resembling the Cecil Beaton ensemble Hepburn wore during the Embassy Ball scene of the movie.
2021: Kris Jenner
Kris Jenner looked as chic as ever in her black suit by Tom Ford. The then-66-year-old wore bold eyeliner and added some color to the monochromatic black ensemble by accessorizing with green earrings.
2022: Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian is known for pulling out all the stops at the Met Gala. In 2022, she raised the bar higher than ever by wearing the dress that Marilyn Monroe once famously donned to give her legendary “Happy Birthday Mr. President” performance to then-president John F. Kennedy.
Kardashian revealed to interviewer La La Anthony on the red carpet that, to fit into the dress, she had to lose 16 pounds in three weeks, since Ripley’s (who houses the dress) would not allow alterations.
2022: Kris Jenner
Kriss Jenner dazzled in this yellow silk gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. She also donned a black bob wig to complete the look and perfectly complement the off-the-shoulder silhouette.
2022: Khloรฉ Kardashian
For her first Met Gala, Khloรฉ Kardashian wore a sheer gold Moschino gown. She finished off the look with her platinum hair styled down and silky black gloves.
2022: Kourtney Kardashian
Kourtney Kardashian also attended the Met Gala for the first time in 2022. She rocked a look by Thom Browne, as did her then-fiancรฉ, and now husband, Travis Barker. The Blink-182 drummer told interviewer La La Anthony, “My baby looks great,” on the red carpet.
2022: Kylie Jenner
Kylie Jenner made her return to the Met Gala in a long, white bridal-esque gown designed by Off-White’s late founder, Virgil Abloh. She completed the look with a snapback hat with a short white veil covering her face.
2022: Kendall Jenner
Aside from the custom Prada gown she so gracefully walked the red carpet in, Kendall Jenner also had a new look for the 2022 Met Gala: freshly bleached eyebrows.
2023: Kim Kardashian
Theme: โKarl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.โ
Kim Kardashian paid tribute to the late designer by covering herself in pearls. The reality star arrived in a custom Schiaparelli gown, complete with dangling pearls covering her chest and extending down her legs. The look also featured a billowing train.
โI wanted pearls. I thought, โWhat is more Karl?โ You know, the iconic Chanel pearls is what I always thought of. So we wanted to just be dripping in pearls,โ she told Vogue.
2023: Kendall Jenner
The model went for the no-pants look at the 2023 celebration. Kendall Jenner wore a black sequin leotard with a white and silver collar and draping floor-length sleeves. The look was designed and custom-made by Marc Jacobs for the night. She accessorized with black platform combat boots for the occasion.
2023: Kylie Jenner
The Kylie Cosmetics founder opted for a pop of color amid the black-and-white dominated carpet. Kylie Jenner wore a red one-sleeve gown with a red and blue capeย custom-designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. She completed the look with red heels.
2024: Kim Kardashian
Theme: โSleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashionโ
Kim Kardashian returned to the Met Gala in 2024 sporting a twist on her signature cinch-waist look. She interpreted the theme and “The Garden of Time” dress code by wearing a custom metallic Maison Margiela Couture gown. She shared with La La Anthony duringย Vogue’s livestream of the arrivals that the dress was “all metal lace.” She paired the gown with a gray cardigan that she wore off the shoulder.
2024: Kendall Jenner
Kendall Jenner arrived in a vintage gown that she revealed had only ever been shown on a mannequin, making her the “first human” to rock it. She told Vogue, “This is Givenchy archival McQueen from 1999. I am so so incredibly honored to wear it.” The black sequined dress, which she said reflected the “something archival” part of the theme, featured a deep V-neck, lace and a scalloped cutout waist detail.
2024: Kris Jenner
With boyfriend Gamble by her side again, Kris Jenner opted for an all-white look that matched her beau’s tuxedo. Her Oscar de la Renta gown included a large flower on the shoulder, gloves and a lengthy train. The morning after the event she tweeted that she had, “The most magical night at The Met!”
2024: Kylie Jenner
Like her mom, Kylie Jenner also chose an Oscar de La Renta gown for her 2024 Met Gala look, according to Vogue. The satin custom dress seemed to represent the timeless aspect of the theme with the inclusion of a cone-style bra that Old Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe frequently sported. The dress also featured an attached train.
